Dishonest service by Aire Serv of Southwest Connecticut
Unhappy Customer
On April 17, 2017 Aire Serve, contracted by Home Depot, installed a new 40 Gallon Rheem Gas Hot Water Heater at our home. When I was able to inspect their work, I found the ground wire for the water heater was not reconnected.
Home Depot was notified and they assured us someone would be out to reconnect it, but there was no response. I had the ground wire reconnected by a qualified person.
On February 25, 2019 our water was only warm. I called our Natural Gas Provider and they sent someone to check the pilot light. He found a long crack in a device that distributes the gas to the pilot light.
the gas company employee said the crack was caused by over-tightening the threaded fitting into the cast aluminum body of the distribution device (there was a gas leak) by the person who installed the water heater. When I called Aire Serv to complain, they only wanted to argue and blame the damage on the gas company for "messing" with things. I told them I would get someone else to fix the problem and that our business was finished.
Note: my wife and I are senior, senior citizens. PS: If the water heater had been in or under our house, instead of in an aqua hut outside, it could have led to a disaster.

A month has now gone by (December 27th) and I have yet to hear from the company. Nothing, not one word.
- Professional installation in a timely manner
- Dispute resolution process or lack of
- Price gouging
Preferred solution: On November 16th, I sent an email back to Honey Baker with a proposed resolution. That proposal was for us to pay $500 more that the second highest bid, which was $4,900. That would mean a refund of $2,600.

Rip off co
We bought a plan from Aire Serv after they were recommended by our home warranty co. We had a maintenance visit, one of 2 we paid for.
Yesterday Freon leaked causing us to need a repair.
I called them and was told we would have service yesterday, we did not. This morning, got an apology call and were told the co we had contracted with were out of business.
Apparently, they are franchised but do not honor their brand. I did pay 90 to pay for a service call to be told this particular franchise does not participate with our home warranty also will not honor the plan we paid for less than 6 months ago.

New and abused
We bought a new trane unit two years ago through them. We have their silver plan for servicing which we purchased after the initial warranty services.
It started not cooling as well last summer;its second summer. We told them that and were just blown off during its service. This year during its summer service we got more persistent with them and they sent out a specialist . Come to find out the txv needed replacing.
I put a complaint on Tranes web page because aire serve made it sound like they were doing me a favor by discounting labor and stating cost of part. Even though it was warranteed.
I was told by Trane that the txv were a replace on fail item, which is like a factory recall and its up to the individual contractor rather they will charge labor or not. Funny if you buy a car and theres a recall they replace for free.
Tried selling me on a new furnace

I am sorry you had a negative experience with our company. sometimes a technician will look at a system and decide it is past its useful life.
this is a judgment call that sometimes is not correct and I am sorry that somebody recommended replacement when in fact the system was operating perfectly. it is never our intention to mislead anybody into replacing their system when it should not be replaced.
I wish you would have contacted me the owner Brian Powell to discuss this so I can make sure that the technician involved would not make recommendations that were not necessary. our number is 203-736-**** and my name is Brian Powell and I am available most days
